Sponsor A Child – Disaster Relief
Disaster relief is a big part of our work here at Kort. We are here to protect the children at all costs from any natural disasters. Most notable in recent years was the Earthquake in Mirpur which unfortunately left 41 people dead and 850 injured.
Sponsoring a child is a way of showing care and in the Islamic faith it is believed to be beneficial:
Allah’s Messenger kissed Al-Hasan ibn `Ali while Al-Aqra` ibn Habis At-Tamimi was sitting with him. Al-Aqra` said, “I have ten children and have never kissed one of them.” The Prophet cast a look at him and said, “Whoever is not merciful to others will not be treated mercifully.” (Al-Bukhari)
Helping children is one of the best ways to fulfil the Islamic obligations of charity and compassion, and it is one of the most urgent of causes on any level:
The Prophet said, “(It happens that) I start the prayer intending to prolong it, but on hearing the cries of a child, I shorten the prayer because I know that the cries of the child will incite its mother’s passions (care).” (Al-Bukhari)
Show your compassion today by sponsoring a child, we ask that you give generously where possible, or a modest donation of what is manageable to you at this time.
