KORT Sports Complex is Officially Open
Prophet PBUH has said: “Taking proper care of one’s health is the right of the body” (Bukhari)
Praise be to Almighty Allah, with the support and generosity of our amazing donors, the KORT Sports Complex has been inaugurated and has been a huge source of excitement and happiness for the orphaned children in our care.
The Sports Complex includes a football pitch, cricket practice nets, a basketball court, and a tennis court.
One of the best ways a person can take care of their health is by being physically active. This can be something as simple as going for a walk or something more complex such as, taking part in sports.
Physical benefits of being active in sports are there to be seen and are very well known to each one of us. However, being physically active also has many other benefits such as:
Studies have shown that those who engage in sport and physical activity are more confident, which is particularly important in child development. An onsite Sports Complex will allow our children to build their self-esteem as they learn to have trust in their own abilities, receive encouragement and praise from teachers, and learn to accept constructive criticism.
The Sports Complex will provide an opportunity for our children to learn skills that will help them in School, as well as in their future careers and personal relationships. Through engagement in sport, they learn leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, responsibility, self-discipline, and a sense of initiative.
Children who spend time outdoors playing, especially organized sports, are less likely to develop vision problems.
The Sports Complex was inaugurated by the Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Asad Qaiser and the Owner of Lahore Qalanders Cricket Team, Mr. Fawad Rana.
Thank you to all our donors and Muskorteers who supported this noble cause especially our dear Muskorteers; Brother Imran Karim & Family (Dubai) and Brother Rauf Akbar & family (Derby, UK) for their support towards this project.
